About Simply Sax
Performing as a quartet since 1995
Simply Sax is a quartet made up of soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. We have been performing as a quartet for almost 15 years and offer you a wealth of experience and professionalism for your event.

Peter Reynolds
A very professional group of four accomplished musicians, playing a cross-section of music from classical to jazz, was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Musicians, like good wine, get better as they get older…
Geoff Duckworth – Tenor Sax
Geoff has played in a wide range of musical settings – jazz, rock, folk, classical and world music on soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, flute, clarinet and Japanese bamboo flute.
As well as performing with Simply Sax he is a member of Mosaic Orchestra and a variety of small and large groups.
Jacky Vine – Alto Sax
Jacky studied at the Guildhall School of Music and developed a passion for playing the saxophone. She has played in a variety of big bands, orchestras and ensembles of differing musical styles ranging from classical to jazz.
Jacky is also an accomplished clarinet and flute player. She currently plays with Opus One Big Band, Maltings Sinfonia, and the Deco Rhythm Orchestra.
Dave Baker – Baritone Sax
Dave plays all four saxes, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute extensively in dance bands, big bands, pit orchestras, jazz groups and occasionally symphony orchestras and chamber groups. He currently plays with Aircrew, the Urban Big Band, Concord Big Band and the Mid-Herts Jazz Orchestra.
Dave has played at venues ranging from pubs and clubs to Buckingham Palace and most places in between!
Patrick Light – Soprano Sax
Last but not least – Patrick, our leader and founder of Simply Sax. When he heard saxophone quartets performing at the World Saxophone Congress in London he was inspired to set up a quartet of his own.
Patrick is an accomplished player of all four saxes, as well as clarinet and bass clarinet, flute, bassoon and oboe. His experience has included many areas of classical and jazz music, and he plays in a variety of jazz groups. He repairs and teaches woodwind instruments.
